Doctrine
For its doctrine, this church accepts the
Holy Scriptures as its authority in matters
of faith and living, and accepts the doctrinal
statement as follows as its statement of
doctrine and belief.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
1. We believe the Bible, consisting of the
Old and New Testaments, to be the only
inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative
Word of God written. II Timothy, 3:16-17.
2. We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth. Gen. 1:1.
3. We believe that there is one God,
eternally existent in three persons: Father,
Son, and the Holy Spirit. Deut. 6:4,
II Cor. 13:14.
4. We believe the deity of Christ, in His
virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His
miracles, in His sacrificial and atoning death
for all through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right
hand of the father, and in His personal return
in power and glory. Isaiah 7:14;
Phil. 2:5-11; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:2;
6
1 Tim. 2:4; John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9
5. We believe that man was created in the
image and likeness of God, but that all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
and are justified freely by his grace through
the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
We believe that the Father draws us, and we
must respond by seeking Him with all of our
heart.
Rom. 3:22-24; Eph. 2:1-3, 12; Heb. 3:8 &
15; Matt. 6:33; Deut. 4:29; 2 Chron. 7:14;
Matt. 7:7; Amos 5:4; Jer. 29:13-14
6. We must be careful not to resist the Holy
Spirit. Acts 7:51; Heb. 3:15
7. We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ
cleanses us from all sin, and is available to
anyone.
I John 1:7-9; John 3:16.
8. We believe that if a Christian does not
continue walking in God's commands, they
will end up walking in darkness. "Then
Jesus told them, "You are going to have
the light just a little while longer. Walk
while you have the light, before darkness
overtakes you. The man who walks in the
dark does not know where he is going."
John 12:35; 2 Peter 1:10; 2 Peter 3:17;
John 12:35; 1 Cor. 10:12; Matt. 10:22;
Heb. 3:6 & 14; Gal. 6:7-9
9. We believe in the present ministry of
the Holy Spirit, and also believe that all of
the gifts are existing today; we also believe
that the Bible gives explicit instructions
regarding the implementation of these gifts
in his services. I Cor. 12:4-11; I Cor. 14:27,
28, 33, 40.
10. We believe in the spiritual unity of all
believers in Christ. Ephesians 4:3.
